Hello everyone. This has been an emotional journey. When I
finished Coffee at 9, I thought it just might be the best thing I could
ever attempt to write. Judging by feedback, many of you put Laramie
right up there with it. It’s just downright humbling.
And sort of sad.
Yes, I hate to see it come to an end. When I began posting
Book Six, I feared that the split narrative would be annoying to readers, and
the time leaps would be too big. It would appear that you all were fine with it
— or at least didn’t email me to give me grief. Thank you for being flexible so
that this book could have its own writing style.
Click here to read the final chapter, Chapter 24.
For this story to make sense, I had to include dates. I had
never done that before. When I did Extracurricular during the pandemic,
2020 was my reference point, and things just flowed from there. Projecting
Laramie and Corey and Cooper into the “future” is slightly quirky, but
mentally, the dates are just placeholders. Technically, I could have backed it
all up four years. But with Lance’s AA meetings and Trent’s journal, it all
just worked this way. I just planned all along to end it with Corey's graduation.
I’ll share with you that when I write something and continue to the
end of the story, I usually don’t go back to proofread it until it is time for
that chapter to be posted. It had been close to half a year since I read this
final chapter. Sure, I knew how it ended, but some of the details were
refreshed in my mind as I went through it — and I enjoyed it! I hope you felt it
was a satisfying conclusion too.
While we have given Laramie a complete arc to his story,
there were moments with other characters that touched me personally as well. I
liked seeing Judith in this last chapter. I liked revisiting Lance’s insecurities and
the love shared between him and Jakob. Roman made another appearance, as did Laramie's father. I enjoyed
bringing these people into the conclusion.
So, thank you, thank you once again for your support. There
truly are no words that can convey how much it means to hear your kind and
thoughtful comments — and predictions and wishes and criticisms. If these
characters seem real to you, then I know we have something in common. I care
about them, fictious as they are.
But are we really saying goodbye to them? Nope, not really.
With Books Seven and Eight in the works, we will definitely see
these people again.
So, here is some information about those two stories.
Book Seven is Mitchell’s book. I’ve provided slight hints
into this story. It will be very challenging as Mitch is the one who cheated on
Cooper. But he still has a story of his own. I’m keeping my fingers crossed
that you will give him a second chance. Book Seven’s title is Say Goodbye to
Sparkleland. Yep, it is my weirdest title, to be sure. It will make sense
as it unfolds.
Book Eight will be my first foray into “College” stories. Okay sure,
Books One and Two had the last few months of Trent’s and Lance’s years, but
this story starts with Corey and Aiden as freshmen. It will have its own take
as well (as each of my stories typically have a niche of their own). This book
is called A Bed, A Desk and My Unfortunate Soulmate. So many readers
have become attached to Corey as he has grown up. Our little valedictorian
is still fairly messed up and insecure, so he and Aiden have a journey
together.
Mitch's book will probably be a little more sexually charged, while the young men going to college will have a deeper story about friendship. Of course, there will be erotic passages in both and also emotional reflection in each.

know when these new stories begin, please drop me an email: timothylane414@gmail.com
Both stories are in the works — and I would never recommend
working on two stories at once, but I’m “into” both stories currently. They
have a long way to go. I prefer to be finished before I start posting. We’ll
see how long that takes. It won’t be August. But I hope early fall. In the
meantime, your emails are still always welcome.
Thank you, my friends. You are the best.
Perfect ending. I liked how Mitchell was treated, no wonder C & L don't want him out of their lives. Only thing is I still wonder how Cooper would react if he knew L, T, M, J have orgies. I'm not suggesting C & L join in, or if this is ever mentioned again, but would it have been a big deal to Cooper? As for Mitchell, he gets my vote because in the writings he has not interfered with Cooper and Larry's relationship, so if people don't like him then it's time to look at their own internal issues about cheating. Then there is Aiden OMG how Corey is going to handle Aiden's homosexuality, that's going to be interesting.
ReplyDeleteYes was great but agree no one is going after Roman, I’m glad Mitch is getting his own story.
ReplyDeleteI am SO sad to see this story end but what a way to go out. Corey’s speech, the art show, the family support and healing. It was all so beautiful. I love all your stories but this one was my favorite. I found myself re-reading the chapters and anxiously looking forward to each update. I’m not a Mitchell fan but I agree that he has acted honourably and I am looking forward to his story for sure but I CANT WAIT for Corey and Aidens shenanigans. I do love those two. Thank you for bringing me joy with your talents and creating characters that I feel like are friends.
ReplyDeleteWhat if Corey experiments with other men? I don't care what he does so looking forward to these next two explorations.
DeleteYeah, such a cool ending, resolution not tragedy, big thumbs up. Mitchell/Corey fan here.
ReplyDeleteVery good, moving, glad to see everyone mentioned. The fuss but over seeing Lance’s penis was funny.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow was excellent and moving. The graduation especially.
ReplyDeleteI really wept over this last chapter! So happy with how you wrapped up Lance and Jakob as well as Cooper and Laramie. I'm sad to see this story end, but look forward to seeing how you weave the characters together in the upcomng books, especially the story about Corey. Will anxiously await your next masterpiece!
ReplyDeleteC.
Timothy, I really liked how you ended this book. It was appropriate and well timed.
ReplyDeleteSo while we are all waiting for the next two books, I'll admit that I started your series sorta bass-awkward. I still have Extracurricular and Ascension to fill my time!
“Timothy, the final chapter was an excellent ending for a specific character within your book. It not only brought fullness to Laramie himself, but it adds additional depth and background to both Cooper and Corey, as well as the interactions between many of the other principal characters involved in the entire story. Well done, well done.”
ReplyDeleteAwesome finish!
ReplyDeleteI will miss you but completely understand that you need some time off. Thank you for this beautiful piece of literature!

Thanks for this final chapter! In fact, thanks for the whole of Laramie! It has been – is – a wonderful story, and I also am a bit sad that it has come to a conclusion. But the conclusion comes, in my reading, at a satisfactory “place” in the story – for Laramie, especially, but also for Corey and Cooper – and for all the others whose lives are intertwined with these three. Maybe even Aiden, since he is a relatively new character in that mix. It will be interesting to see how his life goes, not to mention his and Corey’s relationship. I am happy, as I read in your blog post, that there will be more stories with these guys. I look forward to them!

How many times did I cry? Let me count the ways. Twice in the art gallery opening sequence -- once with this father and once with Lance (whose kindness & vulnerability you portrayed so well), during Corey's valedictorian speech of course, and what a great piece of writing that was, and of course again with Laramie's presentation of his gift & card to Corey, which was also a fantastic piece of writing and mushiness. Such great dialogue, throughout the entire book! And I loved how over the whole arc of the story there was Laramie's very very gradual reclaiming of his name -- no longer the casual, diminutive, generalized, common "Larry" but finally, at the very end, he knows himself fully as Laramie. It makes me want to cry right now!
ReplyDeleteI could go on.
Thanks so much for this book.

Late to the party, yes loved it no changes needed all fell into place. But one post I agree with on this blog. I wonder what Laramie and Cooper would think if they found out about the other four's orgies. I'd join in personally, but if never mentioned does not matter, you created something perfect and wonderful well done.
