That said, I feel slightly saddened that Trent's story will soon end. However, those words aren't exactly true. Trent (along with Mike) will still appear in future books. Mike's story, Extracurricular, certainly didn't cause him to disappear into thin air once I concluded it.
This chapter will obviously contain a moment that will help define Trent's future. Nothing is ever certain, but this was significant. I hope it speaks to you.
Once again, time with families are sentimental moments for me as the author.
The remaining chapters span time in larger leaps. Following New Year's Eve, Trent's story becomes defining signposts in his life. Stay tuned.
Another heartwarming chapter. Glad that Trent's father has come around and that Trent has thawed enough toward him to include him back in his life. Where are Trent and Mike registered for their wedding registry? LOL
ReplyDeleteBeautiful…Christmas with Mike’s parents was so very different. Thank you.

I just wanted to say that I loved the simple yet so wonderful Christmas proposal scene. And, I have enjoyed how Trent and his father are evolving, in a realistic manner, in their relationship. Great series. I will miss it when you bring it to a close.

I love Chapter 41! It was everything that one could hope for. I am so glad that Trent and his dad are slowly making progress. The reaction of his cousin and uncle are also amazing!
ReplyDeleteNow, sex under the Christmas tree… As much as I love sex, I would have never come up with that one! It was terrific. Their presents were so special! Love this chapter!

Like the others, I've had a swell time watching Mike and Trent not just find each other but do the real work of trying to figure out what they each want in their lives and relationships -- how nice is it to see such a nice payoff for all that hard work? In particular, it's nice to see how much acceptance they've gotten from the people in their lives, acceptance that now extends -- as others have pointed out -- to Trent's hard-case father. (And even farther, in Lance and Jakob's story: to the still-harder case of Jakob's father, with his culture-bred bone-deep homophobia, which seems to have softened to something a lot less automatic or absolute.) Kudos to Trent for understanding that this has to start from his own understanding and acceptance of who he is.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Timothy for giving us not just Mike and Trent's story, but all the other "love stories for the gay male" he's already set in motion. I think we really need them, and need, as he's already noted, the full range of them. I sure plan to stay tuned!
Ken,
DeleteI am humbled by your words. Thank you for your kindness and support.

Ok...I read everything backwards. Started with Lance, then realized there was 2 of Us, then realized there was Extra. Love each story and hope there's more!

Don,
DeleteIt's all good. If you've enjoyed each story, that's all that matters. Extracurricular is finished, but more chapters of Book Two and Book Three are still being posted. If you would like to be notified when a new chapter drops, send an email to be on the notification list. timothylane414@gmail.com
