With the latest chapter, Jakob takes risks, or at least big steps.
Read Meeting No. 12 [Chap. 9] here.
How this develops in the weeks ahead for Lance and him remains to be seen? Are he and Lance good together? Or should they be paying attention to the warnings others tend to be offering?
While how their relationship will develop is yet unclear, each of the men involved have some soul-searching to do. Lance continues to mature, and Jakob is learning to trust. Both of them are growing, and that is what I am trying to convey in these chapters.
My favorite part of the chapter is the drawer. Was it a loving a touch? Or no big deal?
I tried to put myself in Jakob's shoes when I wrote this chapter. My own life experiences come nowhere near to what his character has gone through. It was challeging to get into the mind of such a person. I always want my book characters to come off as authentic. Hopefully that is the end result. As Hi, I'm Lance was beginning to evolve, Jakob grew on me quickly. I also enjoyed writing Lance's evolution, as well.
More steps — big ones and small ones — are still yet to emerge.
Wow! A major development indeed. It's a shame that Jakob is so insecure. Lance is really being responsible about their friendship. Good for him! I really enjoyed this chapter.
ReplyDeleteMy heart aches for Jakob. I hope this separation with Lance is temporary. I am sensing that Jakob could have drank? Hopefully, he goes to a different meeting. On pins and needles…
ReplyDeleteJust read Lance 9.
ReplyDeleteReally good. Very real, very believable. Great that you had Jakob broach the topic of Trent.
Just read the new chapter. I had tears in my eyes right along with Lance when Jakob was sharing. My heart breaks at the fact that he thinks he's nothing. I love what Ophelia said to him while they were eating after the meeting. I hope his family comes around to accepting him. He didn't deserve how they treated him...nobody does. I hope Jakob not being at the next meeting isn't anything bad.
