My first kiss was not a boy. In fact, my first male kiss was when I was out of college and as an adult. I had "explored" a little (sadly, too little) in my teen years, but it didn't involve kissing.
One would think a first kiss would be an amazing memory. I don't remember my first kiss with a man. That saddens me. I know who it was but not really the occasion. I remember the sexual activity that probably actually came before the kiss. My sequencing is probably atypical, I suppose.
Lance's flashback in this chapter involves his first kiss — male kiss, that is.

How about you? Kissing first? Sex first?

It's nice to see Lance widening his circle of friends. He really is a very nice guy. I hope he doesn't have a relapse.
ReplyDeleteI just read Hi, I’m Lance the next installment and I loved it! There seems to be some sparks forming between Lance and Jakob. Will love seeing where this one goes.
ReplyDeleteI read Nifty often and have for years, but I rarely write to authors. I had to write to you and say how much I LOVE your stories. The sex scenes are great, no doubt, but the characters speak to me and my life experience. While I am 56, and Lance is in his 20s, his story is mine. I was in love with my best friend growing up. We fooled around a few times but it meant nothing to him. He's straight. It meant the world to me. I never came out when I was younger. Married and had three children. But suppressing who I was, along with a few other things, had me turn to alcohol. At the age of 38 I was a full blown alcoholic and joined the fellowship of AA.
ReplyDeleteLove your stories and your talent.
I do not usually have time, or take time, to read four chapters at one sitting, but found your stories to be interesting, comforting, gentle and they touched home with me, even thought I have never had a drink. Your way of writing invitied me to continue.
ReplyDeleteYour content, even though centered on drinking as the main problem, had other challenges with which I identified deeply.
I appreciate these stories, and would like to read others of yours, and am hoping that you are continuing to write.
I really enjoy "If It Weren't For the Two of Us" and I think "Hi, I'm Lance" is a lovely, touching story about decent, hurt, vulnerable and ultimately courageous people struggling to put their broken lives back together. Each new chapter of either does a lot to enrich the day!
