Trent's Mom plays a part in Chapter 19
Click here to read Chapter 19.
It has been a long time since I told my parents I was gay. My words were: "I think I have found the person I may want to spend the rest of my life with." Dad's reply was: "What's her name?" When my response started with "HIS name is ..."
They were deer in headlights. I knew it was a shock. Parents need time. It's hard for the transition — on both ends. But for me, there was just a huge sense of weight lifted off me. Huge. Being deep in religious faith, it was news they would never wish to hear. I knew it would be awkward for a while.
And, of course, there were several ridiculous questions. But that was okay. Parents should be allowed those. Over time, things have worked out. Mostly.
Chapter 19 was a winner. I guess everyone is different, Trent included, but I recall when I graduated and didn't have a job on graduation I was kind of freaking out and actively looking. He seems concerned, worried somewhat, but not really doing anything yet.
ReplyDeleteRegardless, I look forward to your next chapter and am enjoying the characters as they develop. Thanks for finding the time to write and continue the series on a regular basis.
Well, well well...cannot figure out what Trent is thinking. I sense serious trouble ahead with Lance. Poor Michael. Somehow, things do not bode well for him, but clearly it is up to Trent to man up and sort things out. I believe he does love Michael but is very immature in many ways. I do find your characters' development deepening so well. Thank you as always.
ReplyDeleteJust binged the last three chapters. I liked that Trent's mom contacted Mike. Most Italian moms would. I can't wait to see where this goes next. You have knocked it out of the park again.
ReplyDeleteHmm. Never thought of Trent being Italian. Ha. Interesting. If I started dating a former teacher (at that age and if I was out), I could picture my mother doing the exact same thing.
DeleteI want to tell you just how much I have enjoyed every segment of your story! I love the characters and their interactions as well as the entire story. You really have a talent for creating a most interesting and stirring narrative. I do hope you keep it going for many more segments.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I can tell you a lot more is ahead. Not just for Trent, but Lance too. Thanks for reading. I am glad you are enjoying it.
DeleteJust found this story and I don’t know I want to continue reading it. I feel myself slowly losing respect for Trent because of his dishonesty and lack of boundaries for his relationship with Michael. Why be with someone when you’re clearly messing around with an additional someone? This story has also started bringing a new light to the first book that is also making it lose its integrity. There’s been almost no chemistry between Mike and Trent in this second story as there’s been a huge emphasis on Trent and Lance. Can you tell I’m team Mike?
