  1. No hate mail from me. I really enjoyed this chapter. It helped Trent clarify his feelings for Mike, and it gave him some much needed release with Lance. After all, Mike told him to see and experience other people, so that's what he's doing.

Besides, the sex was really hot!

  2. Why would anyone hate you? What a fabulous chapter and Trent needed this to affirm his love for Mike after his rape. Now he has to come open to Mike and tell all. Rape, Lance, and what he found out. I loved this chapter. Open honesty! You handled it beautifully. Onward and upward. Can’t wait for the next chapter.

  3. So you just couldn't help yourself, could you?? I kinda figured this was where it was heading. If there's one thing I absolutely hate, it's some asshole saying how much he loves one person while he's balls deep in someone else. Yeah, cheating proves how much you love someone. Sure, Trent... He is truly a piece of shit. Him talking about his moral compass made me laugh! I love that he thinks he has one. Bringing up the "rape" in response to his lower grade on his paper just shows how low Trent really is. Trent and Lance are scum and deserve each other.

    1. Drop the scare quotes. Nonconsensual sex is rape. Period.

  4. Well written. You we’re leading up to Lance and Trent having this one night together. At the end Trent is committed to Mike. I do think he needs to let Mike know about the rape. Lance has issues, he needs to come terms with who he is one way or another. I personally feel he wants to be a wedge between Trent and Mike. I just hope they're strong and persevere.

You should have Lance finally meet someone.

  5. I really enjoy this story, by the way. You definitely have a way of building sexual tension but also exploring the complexities of coming out and exploring one's sexuality. There's a palpable naivety to Trent which is even more compelling to experience given that it's written in the first person. When will the penny drop? Will he gain enough insight to truly form a loving, committed relationship with Mike? Given the amount of development that has happened in such a condensed period of time it's easy to forget that Trent isn't supposed to have much insight into himself and his actions. He's really learning as he is going. However I am intrigued to see how Mike will react to all of this? Or will Trent be too insecure to make him fully aware (which is probably more likely at the moment)? One thing that Trent has not demonstrate adequately so far is actually forming and maintaining boundaries. From what we have seen, it's highly likely that another situation will happen whether with Lance or someone else where he will explore his sexuality outside of his relationship with Mike. I don't think it's reasonable to expect this curiosity to die down swiftly. If anything, his curiosity would increase. Being committed to someone isn't solely about "love" and feeling a connection, it's more than that. I feel Trent doesn't really know love. If anything, I think this is going in the direction of either Trent and Mike having an open relationship of sorts (Trent is unable to keep it in his pants) OR Mike and Lance continuing a friends with benefits situation because Lance isn't in a place to be in a public "out" homosexual relationship.

Also, the sexual assault was thoughtfully approached. The combination of elements from alcohol intoxication and a potential drug intoxication to Trent consenting to some elements of intimacy (touching arms and chest, dancing, drinking) but not unprotected anal sex really demonstrated how complex and difficult these situations are. It would be nice to see this actually be unpicked a bit more by Trent because there is an opportunity for the rape to be more than a plot device to push him closer to Lance. It's an opportunity to really explore the character deeper. It would be interesting to know why Trent finds it difficult to impart boundaries when he says he doesn't want to do something. Granted that this flaw has been taken advantage of but I feel there is much to learning and grow from this.

    1. I enjoy listening to readers' views. Although this story has long been finished for months, the comments readers really do influence me as I slightly tweak each chapter from time to time. I enjoy hearing what you have to say.
